Durgapuja is an important festival in the Shaktism tradition of Hinduism and is celebrated every year on the 6 th day of the Hindu month Aswin ( Shukla paksha). This autumn ritual also known as "okal bodhon" ( i.e. untimely invocation) is celebrated for Devi Durga's victory over Mahishasur and thus epitomizes the victory of good over evil.
This year, Washington Vedic Cultural Foundation (wvcf) has started their journey and have arranged for their 1st Durga puja on 16 th October, 2021. The members of the organizing committee would like to express their gratitude to all the esteemed guests as well as residents of Metro area and nearby areas for their presence in this auspicious occasion and their contribution to make this program a grand success.
Due to the current pandemic situation, the question of crowd management was a crucial determinant in the planning for Durga puja. The organizing members would also like to extend their gratitude for the cooperation of the guests by following all the covid protocols while present inside the building of WVCF Durga puja activities.
The members of the puja committee would also like to express their sincere thanks to all the participants of the cultural program for their wonderful performance making this occasion more enjoyable. The members are also thankful to all the people - the technical arrangement team, the stage setting and lighting team who worked behind the scene for execution of this event. Finally thank you all for being with wvcf.
